    What is the difference between the magic bands sold in the shops at Disney World and the ones that I have ordered as part of our resort package? There are lots of really cute bands listed online. Can info be transferred from original bands to new ones?

    Hi Debra!

    MagicBands are not only a great feature to Guests who vacation at Walt Disney World, they have become very stylish.   MagicBands are offered free of charge to Guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.   The MagicBands that Guests can order free of charge come in seven colors; red, blue, yellow, green, orange, pink and grey.  They can also choose to personalize the inside of the MagicBand with a name or initials.    I always like to choose fun names.  On my last trip I had a Nemo, Sebastian, Dory, Flounder and Ariel.   It was so cute.   These basic MagicBands are also sold in stores at Walt Disney World and online at the Disney Store.  You can also purchase special graphic MagicBands once you arrive at Walt Disney World at most gift shops.   

    Special Edition MagicBands are released throughout the year, but do require an additional purchase if you would like one.  These MagicBands can be linked to your My Disney Experience account when you purchase them.  The great thing about MagicBands is that if they are active in your My Disney Experience account, you can interchange them throughout your trip.  I often change my MagicBand to match what I am wearing for the day.  If you would like to check out some of the great graphic MagicBands available I suggest checking out the new Shop Disney Parks application available for Apple iOS and Google Android devices.  This new app allows you to find and purchase most anything that is available within the Walt Disney World Resort, and have it shipped directly to your home.    This is a great option to have a fun graphic MagicBand before you arrive.
