Welcome back to planDisney, Sara!
Lightning Lanes have become a key part of maximizing your time at the Disneyland Resort, and with the addition of the
Premier Pass, there are now even more ways to zip through queues and onto your favorite attractions. Let’s dive into the different Lightning Lane options available at the Happiest Place on Earth!
The first option is the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This service allows you to schedule return times for select attractions in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. You can purchase this option in advance, either when you buy your theme park tickets or as a separate add-on, or you can purchase it on the day of your visit through the Disneyland app. Currently, there are 23 attractions available with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, including fan-favorites like Space Mountain, Incredicoaster, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
After making your first Lightning Lane selection of the day, you can book your next attraction once you’ve redeemed your current selection, or after 2 hours have passed, whichever comes first. Need to tweak your plans? No problem! You can modify your return time right from the Disneyland app. Just remember: you can only use Lightning Lane entry once per attraction per day with Multi Pass, so plan those selections wisely. My Q-Tip here is to set a reminder on your phone or watch for your next reservation window. It’s a practically perfect way to make sure you never miss a chance to book your next adventure!
Next up is the
Lightning Lane Single Pass. This option is available for two of the resort’s most in-demand attractions: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland and Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure. The Lightning Lane Single Pass is a separate purchase from the Multi Pass and lets you select the next available arrival window for these two iconic experiences. Each attraction requires its own individual Single Pass, and each can only be used once. My recommendation? Consider using the Single Pass for these attractions around midday, when wait times tend to reach their highest levels, especially on those sunny Southern California afternoons!
Finally, the newest addition to the Lightning Lane lineup is the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This all-access pass gives each Guest who purchases it a one-time Lightning Lane entry to every available Lightning Lane attraction in a single theme park, including both Multi Pass and Single Pass attractions! Best of all, there’s no need to schedule return times in advance. Feel like hopping on Indiana Jones Adventure after grabbing a churro? Just head to the Lightning Lane! The Disneyland app will keep track of which attractions you’ve redeemed and which ones are still available for the day. Premier Pass quantities are limited, and they can be purchased, by any Guest, including Magic Key holders, up to 7 days before your visit.
No matter which Lightning Lane option you choose, Sara, my best advice is to arrive early! Being among the first to enter the parks not only gives you an edge on booking reservations but also means you’ll enjoy shorter wait times, perfect for squeezing in an extra spin on the Mad Tea Party or a morning trip to Radiator Springs.
If you have any other questions about Lightning Lanes or anything else about the Disneyland Resort magic, please don’t hesitate to send them my way or to any of my fellow panelists here at planDisney.
Wishing you a pixie-dusted day!
