Jambo Constance!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad you asked us this question. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas was my first Disney “home,” and to date is my favorite Resort hotel. I love that it’s a bit set apart from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ‘World, but most importantly,
the animals are the BEST!
The Resort is incredibly unique, and
Jambo House is the chief kraal (or hut). This is the “hub” of the Resort with a gorgeous multi-level lobby and a view straight out to Arusha Savanna. This savanna is where you will see
giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and my husband’s favorite, the ankole cattle. Their horns are huge! You also have a fantastic pool, and
The Mara, which is our family’s
favorite quick-service restaurant.
Kidani Village is a smaller version of Jambo House, and where most of the
Disney Vacation Club Villas are located. This is where we stay most of the time because the Villas are a bit larger than at Jambo House, and we love
Sanaa! The restaurant is a fusion of Indian and African cuisine and is a must-do on every one of our trips. Most of the Savanna View rooms at Kidani Village overlook the Sunset Savanna. It is here that amongst other animals, you will see our favorite Thompsons gazelles, as well as bongos, giraffes, and gorgeous blue cranes.
All four of the savannas are continuous with each other, and the animals freely roam, so you aren’t guaranteed specific animals at all times. But when you book a
Savanna View room, you ARE guaranteed to have an exquisite view of my favorite Cast Members, and a front-row seat to all of their antics! Last time we stayed,
a baby zebra caused a giraffe stampede when he accidentally ran into one while he was playing. We were all amazed at how silently they run, and the baby zebra remains one of our favorite friends at the Resort!
Constance, there are over
30 species of hoofed animals and birds that call the hotel home. No matter which part of the Resort that you pick, I know that you and your children will have a roaring good time!
Asante Sana!
