I have emailedwithSpecial Diets… My son has Celiac disease. Other than Cape May and Chef TJ, which restaurants and chefs are the most creative and magical for gluten free? I want him to have super special meals and we will eat anywhere for this.

    Hey there, Rebecca!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. It's wonderful to hear you're planning a wintertime visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Dining is one of the most memorable parts of any visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth and can be enjoyed by all Guests. Rebecca, as someone with experience navigating dietary restrictions at the Walt Disney World Resort, I'd be happy to help you and your son prepare for a magical and memorable vacation!

Many individuals with dietary restrictions will tell you that the Walt Disney World Resort has far more allergy-friendly options than anywhere else in the world. Many menus at The Most Magical Place on Earth even contain allergy-friendly sections for individuals with sensitivities to common food allergens! Rebecca, I'm glad to hear you're aware of the Walt Disney World Resort Special Diets Team. This resource is extremely helpful for Guests with either four or more food allergies, who require pureed meals, or who must adhere to medically-restrictive diets. I'm happy to inform you that many table-service and quick-service restaurants can accommodate Guests with food allergies or intolerances with little to no pre-planning needed! Rebecca, I often visit the Walt Disney World Resort with a family member with gluten intolerance, and we always chat with a Special Diets-trained Cast Member or the chef when we arrive at each dining location. Some of her favorite allergy-friendly dining locations are Steakhouse 71'Ohana, and the BoardWalk Deli!

Rebecca, I encourage you to speak with the chef at each dining location you choose in order to ensure your son enjoys a magical and memorable meal. You might consider browsing the online menus on the Walt Disney World Resort website with your son ahead of your visit to map out some special meals to try together! I think you'll be surprised by the abundance of gluten-free options available. Simply scroll down to the sections titled "Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly" to explore the different offerings! Not only will this help you make informed dining decisions, but it'd also be a fun way to build excitement leading up to your trip.

I hope this information helps you and your son get ready for a trip filled with many magnificent meals together, Rebecca! If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to visit planDisney again anytime. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
