I am diabetic and will need to check my blood sugar often at the parks. I know that bags are searched at each park entrance. Will I encounter any hassle? I will have sharp lancets with me that are used to stick my finger.

Your situation is quite common; you won't have any problem at the park gate. If the security guard questions you (which is unlikely), simply tell him or her that your sharps are related to your medical condition.
