Can you describe the New Years eve celebration and activities at Epcot

    Hiya Sam,

Welcome to planDisney! I wish I had some first-hand experience to share with you but I bring you the knowledge and experience of some of my planDisney friends.

EPCOT has traditionally had year after year an amazing New Year's Eve Celebration throughout the World Showcase. It culminates in a countdown to midnight and a special New Year's Eve Fireworks. Details have not been announced for this year but we can look back on last year's event to get a hint of what is to come. Several countries in the World Showcase including China, Italy, and Japan had DJs blasting dance music along with lasers, smoke, bubbles, and even a dragon! Did I forget to mention that there were pyrotechnics? I believe the United Kingdom Pavilion had a silent disco as well! There may be different surprises this year and the hope is that it will be posted on the Disney Parks Blog but it has not always been happening. I have found the Instagram page for Disney Parks to be great for posting information about upcoming events.

Prince shares that having a "home base" is important during this event and he loves the Imagination Pavilion bathrooms near Journey Into Imagination With Figment. He said that they tended to have fewer lines and were a bit of a less crowded space. He also recommends arriving earlier on that day with all your patience as it can be a busy night.

Lizzie stresses that re-entry into EPCOT after leaving for a break may not be possible if the Park reaches capacity. This is quite possibly the busiest day of the year for EPCOT and even with a theme park reservation, if you leave you risk not being allowed back in.

Since it may be a long day filled with surprises and tons of people it is best to eat outside of traditional hours. Stay hydrated and pace yourself as it will be a long day and long night.  However, it will be a thrilling experience and one you will never forget.

I hope that this helps and you have an amazing time!

    Happy Planning!

So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
