Is the $200 deposit refundable if the trip gets canceled?

Welcome to planDisney, Kristena! Thanks for stopping by!

I see that you're ready to jet-set off to Walt Disney World Resort come July.  How exciting! I was recently at the Resort and I CAN NOT wait to get back!  With this year being the 50th anniversary, there are so many fun things to see and new attractions to ride.  I especially love the new Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, which is in the France Pavilion at EPCOT.  Make sure to check it out if you get the chance!

When you made your Vacation Package reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel you had to give a $200 deposit to hold the room for you and any other Guests.  Hopefully, you will not need to cancel (because nobody wants to cancel a Disney trip!) but we all know that circumstances change, and sometimes it is necessary.

If you need to cancel and you are still more than 30 days away from your arrival, you should be refunded any amount paid, minus non-refundable fees (you can see the fine print on these on the Walt Disney World Terms and Conditions page).  This refund will include your original $200 deposit.  If you're needing to cancel sometime between the 2-29 day mark prior to your vacation, the original deposit will be considered a "cancellation fee" and will not be able to be refunded.

If you need any more help or clarification about the cancellation process, please feel free to call and speak with a Cast Member at the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line at (407) 939-1936.
Again, I hope that you and your party will be able to enjoy all the magic at the Resort right now!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
