    I am a dependent of an eligible military service member. Does this mean I can still get the military discounted tickets as long as my ID is valid and present with me? He will not be in the trip but buying for me.

    Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your question! If you are the spouse of the sponsor, you can visit Walt Disney World Resort with Disney Military Salute tickets, provided that you have the correct military ID card, the DD 1173. Only sponsors and their spouses can activate Salute tickets. If you are a dependent, you can have your sponsor purchase Magic Your Way tickets instead. These tickets are already active, meaning as long as you link them to your My Disney Experience mobile app before your visit, you can head to the turnstiles when you arrive and have a wonderful visit. The only thing you'll need to do beforehand is make Theme Park Reservations, which are necessary for both Salute and Magic Your Way tickets.

    These tickets can be purchased at your nearest military bases' ITT/MWR travel office or online from Shades of Green Resort. Your sponsor will need to fill out Shades' Advance Ticket Form Request online and email it to tickets@shadesofgreenresort.zendesk.com. A Ticket Agent will contact him to determine his eligibility status and method of payment. Typically, they will contact you in the order the form was received. I have ordered tickets through Shades of Green, and they were emailed to me within 1-2 business days. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets at least a month in advance, that way, you can coordinate your Theme Park Reservations in the order you want for your visit.
