Aloha, Lisa! Welcome to our planDisney ohana. I see your trip is quickly approaching, and you've picked one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotels!
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows truly feel like a little oasis away from the Parks, but what makes it even better is the view of Cinderella Castle from the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon! I was lucky enough to stay here with my family of five over the holidays recently, and I was very pleased with the space that the Deluxe Studio offered. At 447 square feet, these Disney Vacation Club studios are the largest on Walt Disney World Resort property. I have three big teenage boys, so this factor was a huge plus for us! These rooms also received a recent refresh, replacing the older sofa beds with more modern pull-down Murphy beds. I loved how convenient it was to fold it back up during the day, and the most fantastic thing is that it transforms into a couch!
But let's talk about those bathrooms, as they are
a dream come true for anyone traveling with multiple kids (any mom can tell you how annoying it is when they fight over who's turn it is). Bathroom #1 contains a bathtub, toilet, and sink, while the second one (sorry...I can't say #2 here) has a beautiful walk-in shower and vanity with a make-up mirror. This setup really facilitates getting ready for rope drop in the morning!
The room's mini-kitchen is also convenient for the morning rush with a sink, fridge, toaster, microwave, and drip-style coffee maker. The refrigerator is the size you'd see in a dorm room; it's fairly small and does not have a freezer, but we easily fit a half-gallon of milk, a few yogurts, and some bottles of soda and water. If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can submit an
order form to have groceries delivered to your room. Alternatively, you can pick up some sundries at the resort's
Moana Mercantile (along with the refrigerated items, they have some nice bottles of wine in here, too).
Hopefully, having these conveniences will get your day off to a magical start! Another perk about staying here is how easy it is to get to the Parks. The
Monorail to
Magic Kingdom Park is located on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House, and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) is just a short walk away from the DVC Deluxe Studios. Here you can hop on a Monorail which will whisk you off to
EPCOT in a jiffy!
Lisa, until next time, or as they say in Hawaiian, a hui hou!
