Hiya Keith,
Thanks for stopping back in at planDisney with this great question. We often find it difficult to pick which
Disney Resorts Collection hotel to choose for our next
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. There are so many great options and each one has its own unique charm and personality as well as a long list of amenities to enjoy.
If your vacation budget allows, the
Deluxe Resort Hotels is the way to go. Not only do the rooms offer a larger size accommodations but you will also find a number of on-site recreation choices like bike rentals, lounges and swimming pool areas which have some type of water slide for your enjoyment. You will also find a larger selection of dining options, including wonderful table service options (which is not found at
value resort options and are limited at
moderate resorts).
You have great taste! The Deluxe Resort hotels that connect to the monorail are
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and
Disney's Contemporary Resort. They are extremely popular, not only because they are gorgeous hotels with plenty of amenities but also because of their convenience factor. They are a short monorail ride away from
Magic Kingdom and just a slightly longer monorail trip to
EPCOT. Unfortunately, there are no senior citizen discounts offered by Walt Disney World Resort for its tickets, resort rooms or packages, but as my friends Timon and Pumba like to say - Hakuna Matata! No worries! Walt Disney World Resort is often offering specials on their packages that you could take advantage of. We just recently booked a short trip using a fantastic promotion that was available to us as Disney+ members. You can always check out the
special offers online or, if you prefer to speak to a knowledgeable Cast Member, you can contact them at 407-939-5277 from 7am to 11pm EST. They will be happy to walk you through the best cost options for your particular travel dates.
Another idea is to reach out to any local senior citizen organizations in your area. Sometimes they have special offers they could provide or maybe even an upcoming trip to see Mickey Mouse that you can join. Who knows, you could save some money, see Mickey and the Fab Five and meet some new travel buddies all at the same time. One last thought is to look in to credit card award programs. For example, the Chase Disney Visa is a great way to earn points that can be used towards your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It definitely makes it easier to fill up my gas tank if I know I am earning points to visit Main Street U.S.A.
I hope one of these options will help you find just the right fit for your budget. If I can help with any additional planning tips, please stop back and
see me.
T-T-F-N (Ta-Ta for now),
Margaret
