Mmm, sorry but thoughts of my last dinner at Jiko was making my mouth water. Jiko is a fantastic place for dinner and although there are some dishes there with different flavoring and a little kick at times, there is such a great selection that I think you and your wife would find something that is jus right for your tastebuds. The staff at Jiko is well trained in dealing with allergies and food concerns and would be able to assist you with all of your questions.
That being said, if you are looking at dining at Downtown Disney instead, you should consider what type of food you have a taste for. There are great casual places like Rainforest Cafe and the new T-Rex (nachos are delicious there by the way), an Irish pub which often offers live entertainment at Raglan Road, and even a taste of New Orleans and the blues at the House of Blues.
Hands down, our favorite place at Downtown Disney is Fulton's Crab House. The restaraunt can be found on a replica of an old fashioned riverboat just down the walkway from the Marketplace. The menu includes fresh daily selections of fish and other seafood choices including shrimp, oysters, crab and lobster. They do typically offer a few choices for those who do not enjoy seafood, like filet, and the creme brulee is delicious.
I would suggest visiting
