Hi, Kathleen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I reached out to a friend whose father has an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. There are a few attractions that she recommends skipping, including
Mission: SPACE (the Orange Mission) and
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. When approaching an attraction that you're not sure about, speak to a Cast Member and look for the posted signs to see if there are any health advisories. However, everyone's medical needs are different, so I suggest checking with your doctor for specific advice. I know some guests are concerned about the
Radio Frequency (RF) technology contained in the MagicBands. I recommend reading the information about this on the Walt Disney World website.
A few years ago, Walt Disney World Resort implemented additional security measures, including randomly selecting Guests for a secondary screening using metal detectors. When approaching the security Cast Members, let them know about your medical condition. Most likely, they will use the scanning wands in place of the walk-through detectors.
I hope this helps, Kathleen! Have a magical time!
