Hi Lisa,
Thank you for bringing another question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We are so happy that you trust us to help you with your vacation questions.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a great way to cool off and soak up some fun during your vacation in
Walt Disney World. During my vacation in October, we spent a few afternoons in Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and found the lines to be short, making it possible to quickly experience all of the waterslides and spend some time drifting along
Castaway Creek, a lazy river that circles around the entire waterpark! Zipping down the waterslides and playing in the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool were some of my favorite moments during our vacation.
The
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is the largest wave pool in North America and can see waves as high as six feet, making it a super fun way to splash and play and body surf along the waves. The deepest end of the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is roughly 12 feet deep, so you’ll want to have close supervision over children and those who are not strong swimmers. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment and yearly maintenance, but should be open around late spring, early summer. This is subject to change, so I highly recommend that you check back before your arrival to ensure that it has reopened.
I hope that you have an absolutely wonderful time in The Most Magical Place on Earth! Please stop back by if we can help answer any more of your vacation questions.
