What decorations should we expect when going to the parks November 1st and 2nd?

    Hey there, Jessica!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing a question to us! How wonderful to see that you've got a trip to the Disneyland Resort coming up in just a few weeks. Although I'm unable to tell you exactly what you'll see, I'll try and give you a general idea of what will be at the Parks from my experience.

First, let me reassure you that no matter what decorations you may or may not see, you're going to have a magical time. I've found the atmosphere to always be festive around this time and everyone is in a great mood as they anticipate the Holidays.

You're visiting just as Halloween Time ends on October 31, 2024 and before the official start of the Holiday Season on November 15, 2024. Decorations generally come down pretty fast as they prepare for the next phase. The Cast Members are absolutely phenomenal when it comes to redecorating the Parks and I'm constantly amazed at how much they can accomplish overnight. It's almost like there's a Fairy Godmother who can just wave her wand and the Parks magically transform!

I know plenty of Guests who enjoy visiting during this transition period. Most of the Halloween decorations will have been removed but there are usually some remnants that you'll see that take a bit longer to come down. Some of the Fall themed decorations might remain a bit longer. You might also see snow beginning to grace Sleeping Beauty Castle, which makes for an extra special photo op! But full Holiday decorations won't usually be complete until the official start of the season. It's generally a mix of the two Seasons and literally two Holidays colliding!

Speaking of which, make sure to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday, which will remain open throughout both celebrations. I'm really excited to see the Grounds Expansion when it opens! And if you want to really lean into the Fall theme, Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will be running Mickey’s Autumn Adventures Breakfast and Brunch Buffets throughout that period too!

Jessica, I wish you the best as you continue to plan your magical trip! Please return to us if you have any more questions because we're always happy to help! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
