Hi Damien, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I’d be happy to chat about adding a bit of extra pixie dust to your resort hotel room!
I looked through the
Disney World Resort Property Rules and there don’t seem to be official guidelines on decorating resort hotel room windows. There are general rules prohibiting flags, banners, signs, and other materials for commercial purposes or demonstrations, as well as anything obstructing patios, stairways, hallways, etc.
However, I have seen windows decorated at resort hotels where the windows face outdoor hallways, like at
All-Star Sports Resort and
Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. I love seeing everyone’s creativity, and it’s also been helpful for navigating the hallways after a long park day! The window decorating policy could vary by resort hotel, so I’d recommend checking with the front desk when you arrive to see what’s allowed.
Now, let’s talk about the fun part! First, I’d make sure your decorations can be hung and removed without damaging anything. I’ve found that window clings or pictures hung with painter’s tape or suction cup hooks work well. Some resort hotel windows also have a ledge where I’ve seen cute displays with plush toys. I hope this gives you some ideas for bringing some extra magic to your home away from home!
Your trip is happening at the practically perfect time, because there’s a brand new nighttime parade debuting at
Magic Kingdom on July 20th,
Disney Starlight! Check out Disney Parks Blog for a
sneak peek of the incredible floats.
I hope you have the best trip ever in August! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome here at planDisney.
