Heigh-Ho Gabriela,
Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney. Walt Disney World continues to monitor and adhere to the recommendations from the CDC and government agencies. Their number one priority is Guests and Cast Members’ health and safety, during this unprecedented time.
As a result, certain pixie-dusted perks have been put on hold indefinitely or modified, such as the Service Your Way. The Service Your Way allowed Guests, staying at a Value or Moderate Walt Disney World Resort to opt-out of housekeeping in exchange for a Disney Gift Card. The amount depended on the length of your stay. But the gifting of a Gift Card is no longer available. Currently, Guests can still opt out but no Gift Card is given.
Walt Disney World Resort housekeeping adheres to a strict protocol of enhanced cleaning, in high-traffic areas, in and around your resort. Rest assured, before the Guest’s arrival, each room undergoes thorough and detailed cleaning. During the Guest’s stay, every-other-day, housekeeping will remove the trash, replenish towels, clean hard surface areas and, if needed, vacuum. However, all Guests staying, at any Walt Disney World Resort, can decline the every-other-day service, at the time of check-in or by calling the front desk.
Guests can keep up with the changes by following the
Know Before You Go information page. Returning to The World of Magic is going to look a little different but I can guarantee you will still have many magical and memorable moments.
