Hi Dayle, and welcome back to planDisney. When my family puts on our
MagicBands (also known as Disney Bands outside of the U.S.), we know that our vacation has officially begun! I love how easy MagicBands make navigating Disney World, from opening our hotel room door to scanning into the theme parks.
Unfortunately, guests outside of the U.S. aren’t currently able to pre-order MagicBands for delivery or pickup at your
Disney Resort Hotel. However, the good news is, the selection of MagicBands is much larger in the gift shops when you get to Disney World. Usually there are MagicBands for sale at the Orlando airport Disney store and at your Disney Resort Hotel, but you’ll find the best selection in the theme parks and at
Disney Springs.
Speaking of Disney Springs, you can also customize your very own MagicBand at
D-Tech on Demand! There are so many designs to choose from and you can even add your name, which is really cool. It can take a couple of hours for these personalized bands to be ready, so I’d suggest heading to D-Tech first and then shopping or eating while you wait.
Some of my Disney Springs must-dos include shopping at
World of Disney (a one-stop shop for all things Disney merchandise!) and indulging in a Disney-themed treat from the nearby
Amorette’s Patisserie. Another one of my favorite spots is
Summer House on the Lake, where you can buy their delicious cookies from the bakery. I actually love these more than the ones from the popular
Gideon’s Bakehouse!
There are also two complimentary MagicBand alternatives that you can use while you search for the perfect band--
Disney MagicMobile Service, which gives you most MagicBand features right from your phone’s mobile wallet, and a Key to the World card. You can get this plastic card from
Guest Relations or your Disney Resort Hotel's front desk.
Since you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, I wanted to point out a couple of perks I didn’t want you to miss!
Early Theme Park Entry gets you into the theme parks 30 minutes early, every day of your stay. The attraction wait times are usually shorter, which gives you a nice head start to the day. There’s also a new perk this year where Disney Resort Hotel guests get
complimentary water park admission on check-in day. If you're flying in early, it’s a great way to relax after traveling to Disney World!
I’m wishing you safe travels to the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
