    Hi. I have decided that I will need a stroller for my 5 y.o. twin daughters. My question is, if I don't want to rent one, how do I get it there? I'm not a pro at flying. Do you check it like luggage? Would it be cheaper to buy one at Walmart there or rent?

    Since the recent price hike in stroller rental fees (more than $30 per day for a double!) I am strongly recommending that people bring their own strollers to WDW. Dealing with a stroller at the airport is easy. I actually miss the stroller days because we can no longer use it as a cart for all our small bags and jackets.

    When you're at the airport, this is what happens ...

    Bring the stroller with you to the security line. You're going to need to fold it to put it on the scanner. Put it on the conveyor belt with everything else you're having scanned. (Which these days is practically everything on your person. I was at Newark airport last week and had to remove my sweater, belt, shoes, hairclip, and earrings. I'm  all for "better safe than sorry" but it did take me a while to get re-dressed after that.)

    After you get through the security checkpoint you can open up the stroller again and have your kids ride or use it to carry all your extra "stuff." Proceed to the gate. At the gate, ask the agent for a "gate check" tag  which you or they will attach to your stroller.

    When it's time to board, roll your stroller all the way down the jetway until just before you're ready to get on the actual plane. Here you'll fold the stroller again. Once folded, just leave it there next to the entrance to the plane. Usually on flights to Orlando, there will be strollers stacked up here like cordwood.

    When you land, get off the plane and wait right by the plane exit (do not leave the jetway to go into the gate area!). Your stroller may be sitting there already or you may need to wait just a moment while they bring it up from the baggage area. This should take less than five minutes. Once you have your stroller back, then you can proceed on your way.

    I think I may have made this sound complicated, but it really isn't. Any flight to Orlando will have zillions of other families with strollers, just follow what they're doing and you'll be fine.
