Hello there Wayne, and welcome to planDisney!

From one 2023 Disney Groom to another, I'd like to wish you congratulations on your upcoming nuptials this year; I can definitely relate to the decision-making process behind getting married under the sunny skies of Florida!

I recently got married myself with the help and expertise of the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings team, and you might be surprised to hear that there are a lot of rules and restrictions in place surrounding weddings - especially when it comes to any of the Theme Park destinations. Here are a few helpful bits of information from years of my own wedding planning research and personal experience that may be useful to you both:

According to the Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies in place at the present time, any clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in any theme park; in fact the only times that wedding dresses are currently permitted to be worn within Magic Kingdom Park are for either a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding celebration (i.e., ceremonies and receptions) or for a Portrait Session.
While previously, couples who had weddings organized externally may have had the ability in the past to book one of these Portrait Sessions with Disney Fine Art Photography & Video within a Theme Park - this is unfortunately no longer true. These very special sessions are exclusive to Disney Fairy Tale Wedding couples and often take place early in the morning before the Theme Parks open; it'll feel like the entire kingdom is yours for that hour!

Unfortunately at the present time, your wife would not be allowed to enter Magic Kingdom Park in her wedding dress without at least holding a wedding event planned through the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Team. (It is for this reason that some couples who decide to hold their ceremony at an alternate location like a church still plan a full reception or vow renewal event at Walt Disney World Resort in order to be eligible.)

I highly recommend reaching out to their team as these policies and my research reflect what is currently in place and may be subject to change in the future.

I might suggest a dining reservation at one of the Resort Hotel restaurants where she may be able to don her wedding dress while taking in the fireworks from high atop Disney's Contemporary Resort at California Grill. As long as you have other non-wedding attire options that you might want to wear, I can also recommend a special Capture Your Moment session that you and even several family members can take advantage of that may be a more cost-effective alternative to ensure you have memories of your special day captured for years to come.
