If we decide to pay for a Character meal instead of using our credits, when do you need to decide? Do you enter stating that or can you decide once the meal is in progress? Thank You

    Hi Walt,

We love the Character meals. It is a great way to visit with the Disney pals and enjoy a little break for the park crowds.

When making your advance dining reservations, you will be asked if you are on a dining plan and this information is noted in the system. You can however change this option at the time you are seated. When your waiter approaches your table he will inquire if you are on a dining plan and you will need to let him know at the time what your intentions are. We have often made reservations under the dining plan and then paid for the meal out of pocket because we used our credits at additional locations.

I have never changed my mind about payment options during or at the end of the meal, so I am not sure how this is handled. If this is important to you, the best advice would be to discuss this with your waiter at the beginning of the meal and ask him when he needs to know if you will be using your dining credits for the meal.

Be sure to have those cameras and autographs books ready during your meal and enjoy!
