If we decide to go with the Magic Your Way Dining Plan that does not permit appetizers, can we add that on at the table or are we restricted to the entree, drink and dessert? We are considering the Deluxe plan but my son, 11 and I do not eat appetizers

Guest who are on the Disney Dining Plan are welcome to supplement their meals in any way they like.

As you noted, appetizers for adults are not included on the basic plan, but you are certainly able to have one and just pay for it a la carte. Similarly, you are welcome to purchase a glass of wine or other adult beverage that is not included on the plan. It is also quite common that a big-eater child on the dining plan would supplement his or her meal with an adult appetizer and pay for this separately.

If only some of the members of your party are going to want appetizers, it probably makes the most sense for your group to get the basic version of the plan. That way the non-appetizer folks won't be wasting food.
