If we decide to book a future cruise while onboard, does it have to be for that ship? We will be sailing the Dream but would like to do Fantasy next. What if future itineraries aren't released yet? Perks to booking onboard?

Welcome back, Amanda! One thing that my husband and I always make the time to do when we're onboard our Disney Cruise is to book another sailing! I'm so glad you're already considering this yourself!

Disney Cruise Line offers some amazing perks to booking your next cruise while you're onboard the Dream this sailing. You can receive 10% off the next cruise, a discounted deposit, and a generous onboard credit for the next sailing, based on length of cruise. It is definitely worth booking the next vacation while onboard. Plus, it makes leaving the ship a bit easier. After having an amazing time onboard the Dream, you won't be quite as sad to head home because you'll leave knowing you have another cruise to look forward to on the Fantasy!

Don't worry if you aren't sure of the exact sail date you want to book. Guests are able to book a placeholder cruise, which you can later use to select the exact sail dates you'd like, and still have the perks to onboard booking. In fact, we just got home from sailing with Disney last week, and we put down a deposit for a placeholder for our next sailing. I'm hoping to book a summer 2018 cruise, but since they're not released yet, the placeholder will ensure that our perks are still available. With a placeholder, you'll have two years to sail from the date you book, so as long as your cruise takes place within those 24 months, you'll be all set, Amanda!

One more tip about booking onboard: do it early! On the last day or two of your cruise, the lines to re-book will be very long, as the guests have had such fun and are excited to book their next sailing. I highly recommend stopping by the Disney Vacation Planning desk as early as possible in the sailing to book so you know it's taken care of early and you can then enjoy your cruise!

    Happy planning!
