Hi, Shally! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Although
Walt Disney World Resort offers a 4 or 5-day
Military Promotional Ticket as well as
discounts on select Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms and
Memory Maker, these offers are extended to active and retired members of the U.S. Military with valid Military ID. Generally speaking, this means the veteran or Military member will have a DD Form 2, DD Form 1173 or 1173-1, or DD Form 2765. If your husband has one of these forms of ID, you should be eligible for these discounts.
If he does not have one of these Military IDs, he may still be eligible to stay at
Shades of Green during January or September as a part of its “
Salute to Our Veterans” program. Shades of Green is a hotel on Walt Disney World Resort property reserved for the exclusive use of U.S. Military members and their families. It’s my family’s home away from home when we’re at Walt Disney World Resort, and is an excellent resource for active members of the U.S. Military and veterans, too.
Make sure you take time during your vacation to witness the
Flag Retreat at
Magic Kingdom Park. This moving ceremony selects one veteran every day to participate in the lowering of the American Flag each afternoon accompanied by the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star-Spangled Banner. It is an amazing experience!
Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Shally. Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you.
