Here are few thoughts:
- When my kids were that age, we tried very hard to make sure they were not completely crabby at the end of the day. We would spend the mornings in the theme parks and then head back to the resort around lunch time. Then we would always make sure they had a good nap in the afternoon. Hubby and I would take turns staying with the kids and getting some personal time to explore the hotel. With a good nap you may be able to have the kids' alert enough for a table service meal.
- There's no rule that says your table service meal has to be at dinner. You can use your table service meal credits at breakfast or lunch if that works better for your touring style. Maybe the kids will be more together if you have your big meal mid-day and then just a sandwich for dinner.
- You could get a sitter one night. Disney contracts with several babysitting services that will come to your room to watch your kids. (Read more about this
HERE.) Some of the nicer, signature dining experiences at WDW require the use of two table service meal credits. You could use your credits and have a fabulous meal without worrying about tired kids upsetting your meal.
- Depending on where you're staying, you can use Dining Plan meal credits for in-room pizza delivery or for room service.
I hope these ideas help you think through your decision.
