Hi! We are debating between the 5-day Bahamas cruise from Miami, or the 7-day Western Caribbean cruise with a Star Wars Day at Sea. My kids (7 and 4) love Star Wars ...will they still see Star Wars characters and movies on the 5-day cruise? Thank you!

Welcome aboard, Mona! Isn't it exciting to begin planning your Disney Cruise Line vacation? The hardest part is choosing between so many magical itineraries!

The two itineraries you're considering are very different, so let me tell you a bit more about each one. The Star Wars Day at Sea sailing is on the Disney Fantasy, one of Disney's two larger cruise ships, and it includes an entire day of Star Wars-themed activities, events, character greetings and parties. I highly recommend it if your kids are big Star Wars fans. You won't find anything like it elsewhere! Plus, besides the Star Wars day onboard, the other six days are filled with the most popular Disney Cruise Line activities that you'll find on all of their sailings like Pirate Night, family game shows, spectacular Broadway-style shows, Youth Clubs for the kids, and amazing adult exclusive spaces and the AquaDuck, a water coaster at sea!

The Disney Magic is Disney Cruise Line's very first ship, and it's smaller than the Fantasy. This is the ship that sails from Miami on the five night cruises. It underwent a magical transformation a couple years back and is my favorite of all four ships! You will not find Star Wars themes or characters onboard, but plenty of other Disney friends and fun! But, you will enjoy some magical Broadway-style shows, games, events, and a totally different pool deck area, with my son's favorite: the AquaDunk a thrilling drop into the slide which then splashes down through a tunnel. I braved it many times, and recommend it if you love thrill rides!

Both itineraries visit different ports of call too, so keep that in mind as you decide. I hope that helps, Mona! Let us know if you have more questions as you plan!
