Hi, Kristin! Thank you for bringing us another great question about Gran Destino Tower at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort! I recently returned from my stay here, and I am happy to share my experiences and give you a few suggestions as well.
Gran Destino adds 545 new guest rooms to this resort, including 50 suites. When it comes to room categories, I recommend going with a standard view (and requesting an upper floor), as they are less expensive. In our case, we were on the 14th floor, and although we could see the parking lot below, we were also facing Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, which made for excellent views of the fireworks shows in the evening. The water view rooms are also lovely and have sweeping views of Lago Dorado.
I called Walt Disney World Resort reservations, and even though they said there are adjoining rooms available, I did not notice a door in our room; in fact, I double-checked this by looking at the photos on my camera roll. I can assure you that all of the rooms were designed with plenty of storage space with multiple drawers, plus a dedicated wardrobe for hanging clothes, and luggage storage under the raised beds. The one thing I definitely noticed upon entering the room was the interactive television system, which is available in every guest room and suite in Gran Destino Tower, providing a more customized in-room experience. I loved seeing our name displayed on the screen with a nice welcome message, and we were able to view our
Disney PhotoPass images on the TV.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is home to two of my favorite lounges on property. If you're looking for a relaxing spot with a fantastic view, head up to the top floor of the Gran Destino Tower and have a drink at
Dahlia Lounge.
Three Bridges Bar & Grill is located on the water in the middle of Lago Dorado (it has a similar feel to Geyser Point Bar & Grill), and the food is outstanding (try the Stuffed Mushrooms...you won't regret it)!
Have a magical trip, Kristin!
