    I have deamed of staying at AKL for over 15 years. My adult daughter and I are going in July (I know, she’s a school teacher) we have heard the commute to the parks is very long, and wondering, is it the experience worth the park time we will miss?

    You and your daughter are going to have such a wonderful trip this summer! It makes my heart so happy to hear that you'll be able to enjoy the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation together!

    There's no better place on earth for dreams to come true, and if staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a dream of yours, I say that you should 100% GO FOR IT! It's one of my very favorite Resort hotels, and I really think that you're going to LOVE it! With incredible wildlife, interesting cultural experiences, gorgeous decor, and even inspiring music and artwork, you'll feel immersed in an amazing African setting. And while it is a bit removed from some of the hustle and bustle, it's really all relative. You're still on Disney property, so you're not that far from the theme parks. You can expect the bus rides to take up to 20 minutes in average traffic, and maybe a bit more if it's rush hour or there are traffic issues, but with Disney's complimentary transportation, you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. If you have the time, I'd suggest getting up early in the morning and heading to the theme parks before they even open so that you can maximize your time there, then taking a day off from the theme parks in the middle of your trip to just relax and enjoy all that Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has to offer. Don't forget to ask for a Recreation Calendar when you arrive so you can take advantage of some of the unique activities.
