I have the DDP and I was wondering, at the quick service locations does my dd5 have to take the kids choice on the menu? I understand this to be true for table service.

Hi, Karen!  A child's credits on the dining plan are only good for a child's meal at any of the Walt Disney World restaurants.  The dining plan specifically states that children between the ages of 3 and 9 must order from the children's menu at any restaurant.

The good thing is that if your child is not a fan of traditional kids fare, like hot dogs and nuggets, you will find restaurants that offer other options.  The kids menu at lunch at Be Our Guests offers such things as turkey meatloaf and whole grain pasta.  The Katsura Grill at EPCOT has a teriyaki chicken dish that my kids love.  Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom has a baked chicken meal.  Disney's Hollywood Studios has the ABC Commissary, which has one of my youngest daughter's favorite counter service lunch.  You can get the Power Pack lunch, which features a yogurt, goldfish crackers, apples, carrots, a dessert snack bar, and a drink.

I hope this helps you with making some decisions regarding the dining plan!
