DDP or no DDP, that is my dilemma! We r a fam of 5. Kids will b 12,7,8. Oldest is not big eater at all & very picky & she is now adult pricing. We will be staying 11/27-12/6 next vacation & not sure whether to get it or not? Need advice!

    Hi Michelle,

The dine with the Disney Dining Plan or not is always such a personal choice. I know my family faced similar dilemmas when my daughters were that age. For the most part, we chose not to eat on the plan. However, let me provide you some things to think about before you make your decision.

First, look at the menus of the restaurants you are dining at for meals. Figure out if your daughter would eat something from the adult menu or not. If yes, great. If no, would the 7 or 8 year old eat from the adult menu? If yes, no problem, you can switch the meals. Remember a chef can tailor some adult meals such as leaving spinach or a sauce off of a dish if your daughter likes the protein.

Do you like buffets? If so, there is no designated food that is adult or child. I often just want a Mickey waffle for breakfast or a chicken strip for dinner. This is totally fine.

What types of restaurants are you dining at for meals? Quick service meals usually offer a similar meal in an adult portion instead of a child's portion like hamburgers. Also, some table service restaurants like Mama Melrose do the same thing. I find the select signature restaurants or certain countries in Epcot have a very different adult menu than the children's.

Finally, I find we just can not eat all the food with the Disney Dining Plan. This alone is why I prefer paying as I go.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
