Hi Nicole! Deciding where to stay on a Walt Disney Vacation is always so much fun in my family. I love to try new places each time we visit. Moderate hotels are some of my families favorite at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort- Riverside, and
Disney Coronado Springs Resort are my two suggestions for your family.
I also just recently moved from near New Orleans to my current hometown, and believe me you will not be disappointed with Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside. This resort has the rustic relaxing charm of the deep south, but is also full of wonderful amenities. You will find, fishing, many pools, a waterslide, and even a water taxi service to the Downtown Disney Resort Area. Guest rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort even offer a pull down trundle bed, just in case your teenager doesn't want to share a bed with your daughter.
Coronado Springs Resort, would be a total change of scenery for your family with it's Spanish-colonial charm. Set around a 22 acre-lake, this resort has some amazing views. My 8 year-old daughter has often said that the main pool, shaped like a Mayan pyramid is one of her favorites at Walt Disney World. This resort is a little larger than Port Orleans, but it also has a gym, and spa located on site.
You can't go wrong with either of the two Resorts. Both are charming, and full of fun unique features. I suggest you look at each Resorts homepage with your family and choose which appeals to you the most. We will always be here to help you out, should more questions arise.
Have a Tiggerific Day,
~Jen
