8/10-17 DH, DD7, DS4 & me. Will do 1 h20 park, but not sure when. Is a half day enough? AM or PM? BB or TL? Kids have never been, will love it. I'm afraid they'll like h20 parks so much they'll prefer it to the parks (both have been 2x to parks). Help

    Kelsey,

I think that half of a day at a water park is more than enough. I would not worry too much about them loving the water parks more than the theme parks. Your vacation is about everyone having fun, and if they enjoy some water slide time, then that is a good thing! I would recommend getting there first thing in the morning and playing through lunch. Give your kids a hard departure time, so they are mentally prepared for when it is time to leave.

In the old days I would use a lunch at another location (my resort, or in a park if that was where we were going in the afternoon/evening) as a destination to help them understand why leaving was needed at a certain time. I did this, in part, because food in the Water Parks was pretty unmemorable. Allegedly they have done some work to improve the counter service food there, so eating there may not be such a bad idea anymore.

Both are great water parks, and either would do fine. I think my preference for you would be Blizzard Beach. The kids areas for different age groups is a great feature that will make it good for both of them. Also, at Blizzard Beach you can also do some mini-golf at the adjacent Winter Summerland area.

Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
