Hi Stacey!
Boy, it does get tougher to plan vacations once kids get older, especially girls! I'm not looking forward to the later teen years :)
One great idea is some Spa Time at the Grand Floridian: some great mother-daughter pampering time is in order! There is a whole menu of options at the spa located
here. Since your daughter is above 12, she can experience any of the regular spa treatments. An adult will need to be present for some of the treatments (up to age 18), and spa staff can help you guide you on this. I've heard incredible reviews of the Citrus Zest Sugar Scrub and its now on the top of my list of things to try! Be sure to check out the link for the "Complimentary Gift to Relax" at the top of the spa page (link above). This is a coupon good on spa services. Might as well save some money while you're being pampered!
As part of your "Grand" day, I'd suggest a meal at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Enjoy a relaxing lunch after your treatments to truly top off your day!
If your daughter is a bit of an Disney buff, I'd suggest some
behind the scenes tours. If animals are more her thing, a
Dolphin in Depth or
Seas Aqua Tour would be an awesome surprise!
And, lastly, if you haven't yet tried some of the more themed dining experiences, I can highly recommend the
Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater and
50's Prime Time Cafe for a fun atmosphere while enjoying a good meal. For a quick snack, surprise her with a shaved ice at the Kaki-Gori Stand in Japan!
Hope this helps! Have a great trip!
