    W/ DD6, DD3, DH - 8 days! Arrive 8/18 afternoon, Dining reservation @ 8:00, Ragland Road. Would like to catch a boat after dinner 2 a spot where we can watch fireworks. We'll have a closer view on the other nights, but our first night needs a finale! Tips?

    I hope this answer gets to you before you arrive!

    From the Downtown Disney location, there is not an easy place to catch fireworks by boat. The only fireworks you can see outside of a park is at the Magic Kingdom. You would need to take a bus to Polynesian and watch the fireworks from the beach.

    I never recommend overdoing the first night of vacation when you arrive. My family always gets to bed early so that we can start our vacation fresh. One mistake I see families making is cramming every minute of the day with something. The best advice I can give you is to slow down and enjoy. You spent the day traveling which is exhausting. Enjoy the rest and start fresh the next morning.
