My DD and I will be coming to WDW in March 2010. We were there this past March & stayed at Pop Century. We are looking at the All Star Movies and All Star Music for next time. Which one is better? What are the negative things about the All Star Reso

    Hi Amanda,

How fun! One of the easiest ways to get over having to come back from a Disney World vacation, is planning your next Disney World vacation.

We have stayed at all three of the All Star properties and in my opinion, the only real difference between these three properties is the theming. The All Star Sports resort does seem to be more crowded than the other two, especially when there are large sports groups in for activities at the Sports Complex, but other than that the room accomodations and resort amenities are pretty identical. You may notice in comparison to Pop Century, that the All Star properties are not as new as Pop Century, but the main difference you may notice is the Disney transportation system. The All Star resorts typically share a route and buses between the three hotels, while Piop Century has its own bus system and does not stop at other resorts. Given that the All Star properties are value hotels and are very large properties, they are often quite crowded and therefore the buses are usually very full.

Besides the transportation often being a little more crowded, the rooms will be slightly smaller than a moderate and deluxe resorts and some amenities will not be included, for example a refrigerator in the room. The main drawback to the value resorts that we have found is the noise level. Since the rpoperties are large and a great price, they attract large numbers of families. We have found at times that the noise level near the rooms, the crowds at the pools and eatery, are more than we deal with when we stay at other Disney World properties. However, for the value, the All Star properties are a great option and we have always had a great time there.

Personally I prefer the theming at the Movies more then the Music, but that is siimply my taste. Enjoy!
