Welcome aboard, Danielle! You must have a Disney cruise coming up soon! Guests should definitely add "Download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App" to their must-do list before leaving for the cruise.
Disney has a fabulous app for guests to use on their mobile devices while onboard any of its four pixie-dusted ships. The app includes all of the schedules of activities and events for each day, menus, maps, Character Greeting information, show information, a texting feature to use onboard, and more! As long as you've downloaded the app to your phone before you arrive at port, you won't need to purchase an internet package to use the app. Once you're on the ship, just turn on Airplane Mode, turn on WiFi, and connect to the DCL-GUEST network. The app works for free on the DCL-GUEST network, however to access anything else online through that network, you'll need to purchase an
internet package.
I love being able to escape from the world and truly disconnect while we're at sea, so I don't buy the internet packages. Being away at sea is a great excuse to really unplug, right? But, for the quick check in with friends and family back home, it is nice to be able to do a fast email check or post a picture of our fun on Facebook. Disney usually offers a free 50 MB internet package for guests, which is plenty for me to do just those quick things throughout the sailing. The package is only available to sign up for on the first day, but able to be used throughout the sailing. Check the back page of your Disney Cruise Line Navigator paper that you'll receive at port on embarkation day for details on if that freebie is offered for your sailing. Directions will be there to help you sign up. It is one package per stateroom.
Have a magical adventure, Danielle!
