Hi Shane! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question. It’s great to hear from you again!
You are going to love the
Disney Treasure. I haven’t sailed on her yet myself, but I’ve heard incredible things, especially about the Broadway-style entertainment lineup.
The Tale of Moana is already getting so much buzz, and I can’t wait to see it!
Now, let’s talk
Castaway Club. You’re right...once you complete your very first Disney Cruise Line sailing, you’ll automatically become a Silver Castaway Club member. Your status will update shortly after your cruise, and any future reservations in your account will reflect those Silver benefits. Just make sure you sail (or book) at least once every five years to maintain your membership, though it sounds like you’re well on your way! As a Silver member, you’ll get perks like early booking for activities and Port Adventures at 90 days out (instead of 75), early access to new itineraries, a welcome-back gift in your stateroom, and earlier online check-in at 33 days before sailing.
While it’s totally fine to book your next cruise now for May 2026, you might consider waiting to book it onboard during your December cruise. That way, you can take advantage of the
onboard booking offer by placing a Placeholder Reservation, which is a flexible deposit you can apply to a future cruise within 24 months. It includes a discount on the prevailing rates for most sailings.
You can technically cancel an existing cruise and rebook with the placeholder discount, but it’s not always simple because pricing can change, and the fare for your new booking may be higher depending on availability. So many guests prefer to use their placeholder toward an additional cruise instead (a third voyage would be a great way to get even closer to Gold Castaway Club status)!
Hope this helps with your planning, Shane!
All aboard,
Eean
