29 days until our trip!! I am soo excited!!. Will Disney cancel Spirit of Aloha if it rains? Will I need a back-up reservation for dinner just in case? How will they let us know if it is cancelled? Thanks! Love this panel.

    Hi Lesli,

My family enjoyed dining at the Spirit of Aloha. The food was good and the show was fun. While most of the guests are under a ceiling, the performers are not. This makes for a slippery floor and Disney wants to make sure its cast and guests are safe. While a little rain may not stop the performance, a downpour or thunder and lighting will.

Unless there is notice of an upcoming storm, you will need to go to the Polynesian to find out if the show is being cancelled. Because the weather can change at any time, it could be a last minute decision.

I might plan on going to another restaurant on the monorail for dinner this night if there is a cancellation. The Wave in the Contemporary or 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian are good choices. I would recommend Ohana but everyone else at the luau will look to go there as well.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
