    12 days! My in-laws r travelling w/ us & we rqstd rooms close 2 each other. Can we still check in online, or should we wait til we arrive to have better chance of fulfilling our special request? @ Riverside r there stndard rms in same bldg as Royal r

    Hi Christina,

    When making any sort of room request, you should do so several times: first when you make the reservation, then you should call your resort directly about three days before your arrival to confirm, and again in the notes with your online check-in. You should NOT wait until you arrive to make a request. My friend Bret does a great job of explaining exactly how to have the best chance of having a room request honored. You may also want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com and search there for an article called "The Art of the Disney World Room Request."

    As for Port Orleans, the Royal Rooms and regular rooms are in different buildings.
