2 days to go before we are in Texas 3 to our cruise. I haven't seen or heard anything about the safety/emergency drill on the ship. This is our first time cruising ever. Can you give me information/details on the safety/emergency drill they conduct. Thanks

    Ahoy Tammy!
I'm sure your bags are filled with your cruise attire ready to board the Disney Magic for a magical cruise vacation!  It won't be long now before you are sailing into the sunset!
Before the ship sets sail for your wondrous voyage, a safety drill or Muster drill will be conducted by the crew for all cruise Guests.  Around 3:45 all services and amenities on the ship will be suspended so the crew can prepare for the Mandatory Life Boat Drill at 4:00pm.  There will be announcements made prior to 4:00pm to prepare you for the loud sirens that will sound at the time of the drill.  When you hear the sirens or just prior to 4:00pm, you will make your way to your assigned Assembly Station.  This station will be a numbered letter which will be on your Key to the World card and also on the back of your stateroom door.  Also on the back of your stateroom door will be directions on the best route to get to your Assembly Station.  Most stations are located on Deck Four, but you will want to check the directions on your stateroom door before the drill begins.  When you leave for the drill be sure to take everyone's Key to the World cards because the crew will be checking in all Guests upon arrival.  The drill will last about 15 minutes and detailed directions will be given over the loud speaker on emergency procedures.  The lifejackets in your room do not need to be worn or taken with you, but the crew members will go over how to wear them at the drill.
I hope my answer gives you a good idea of what to expect on Saturday.  If you have any other last minutes questions, please let me know!
    Bon Voyage!
