    4 days to go!2 daughters want to bring trading pins we have, has anyone ever had any trouble with these in their carryon.We are flying with Airtran Airways from Buffalo to Orlando and I do not want to have any issues with lanyards & pins in carryon

    I have had my daughters' trading pins and lanyards with me in carry-on luggage several times with no problems at all. I have taken trading pins in carry-on bags on JetBlue, Delta, and AirTran from three different New York area airports and have never once been questioned about this.

    Trading pins should be treated no differently than any jewelry that has a small pin back  -- such as a broach or large earrings. While there is always a chance that the TSA could change their travel regulations, if everything stays as is, I'm confident that you won't have any trouble with your pins.
