11 Days =) Our first day Mk, I would love to be there for rope drop. Park Opens at 9.. Staying at movies resort. What time do buses start running? What time would u suggest we arrive? Is it usually crowded for rope drop? Thanks again panel for all ur help

    Stacie,

Typically you will find that buses start running to the Magic Kingdom from your resort about an hour before park opening. Since you can anticipate the bus ride taking about 25 minutes, you probably want to try to catch that first or second bus of the morning. That way you account for some wait time at your resort, the trip, and then the time to get a decent viewing spot of the railroad station for the rope drop.

So bottom line is try to get the bus around the 8:00 to 8:15 am time frame.

Note here that unlike with other rope drops, you are not actually through and into the park at the Magic Kingdom. So you are looking at the railroad from the turnstiles side, not from Main Street, U.S.A.

By the way, we are going to be there right around the same time (just a bit after), and we make a point of catching at least one Magic Kingdom rope drop every visit. At this time of year you will find that it is not too crowded.

    Have a magical vacation!
