    2 days drive to WDW May2014. Will be staying a week. Is it better to arrive day after Mem day or arrive the Thurs after? Will the crowds be less avoiding Mem day weekend, even though it will be June, the busy summer season? Thank you!

    Hi Dara,

    Memorial Day weekend is always the unofficial start to the summer! This year there was a monstrous event which Magic Kingdom was open 24 hours!

    I have been Memorial Day weekend and it was busy but not as crowded as other times we have been to the Walt Disney World Resorts.

    If you are Star War fans, you may want to come and visit for this special event as well.

    The choice is up to you as it will not be as crowded as at the end of the month.
