68 days & counting! First trip to WD during the winter (5th family trip), rides such as Kali River, do we have to avoid these? I know we've been soaked from these, and that's fun in August, but I'm worried about Dec.!Do you still go on water rides?

The answer to your question varies a bit depending on the weather on the day of your actual visit. You could experience a heat wave at any time of year and be perfectly comfortable on the attractions that feature water (really only Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain).

That being said, my family is generally much less happy about going on Kali River Rapids in the winter. The water on the ride is not heated and, as you know, you're going to get pretty darn wet braving those rapids. It's one thing to walk around the park soaking wet when it's 90 degrees out and you'll be dry within minutes. And it's a completely different experience to be soaking wet when it's 65 degrees and you won't fully dry for hours.

If you do want to ride Kali in the winter, it is, in my opinion, important to either bring ponchos, or a change of clothes, or both. Otherwise, you are going to feel pretty icky sitting on the Safari with damp undies :-(. On the plus side, the lines for both Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain are generally shorter in the winter.
