Going 8 days in Aug,w/3ds 8,5,2 trying to figure out how long in each park. Half day first and last days. No park hopper. Will do nap in PM, want to do Character dining & parade daily.realize that takes more time.not big thrill seekers.

Disney World with three boys, sounds familiar. Given the crowds and heat in August, you will need afternoon breaks to relax and cool off.

I would judge my park time by my kids' personalities, energy levels and moods.  Are you early risers? If so, that is a great chance to beat some of the crowds and avoid a little of the afternoon heat and humidity. We like to hit the parks right after breakfast and stay until early afternoon. We then head back to the hotel for our break. Around dinner time we head back to the parks for dinner and fun. If your family is slow movers in the morning, start a little later and push your break back to late afternoon, with a return to the park in the late evening. We like to keep one day open for activities out of the parks, for example miniature golf or shopping at Downtown Disney. We often begin our half day arrival at Epcot as it offers numerous dining opportunities and is a great way to ease into the crowds and busy Disney pace.

You will find plenmty to do at each park besides thrill rides. Many of the rides are actually slow moving vehicles that the family can enjoy together. I certainly suggest the parades at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. They are one of our favorite things every visit. Be aware the parades usually kick off around mid afternoon so you may need to adjust nap time on the days that you are parade watching. Make a list of the things that your family would like to do most and start at each park with that list. This way if you decide you are to hot or tired to return to the park in the evening you will have done your favorite things first. Character dining is a great way to get out of the heat and spend some time with the characters. These meals are very popular so be sure to make your dining reservations ninety days prior by calling 407-WDW-DINE or 407-939-3463. Most important, relax and enjoy. When you are tired go back to the resort and rest. .

Hope you have a magical trip!
