Our 60 days advance reservations opened today; we want to book an umbrella or shack at typhoon lagoon, but cannot figure out how to do this. It says it is currently closed but a web search suggests it will be open when we want to go on 22nd May.

Greetings, Helen, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! Your springtime visit will be here before you know it, so let's dive in and explore how you can have a splashtastic time at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

You're correct that Typhoon Lagoon should reopen on May 12 this spring, just in time for that fabulous Florida sunshine. But when I went to the Beachcomber Shack landing page, I didn't see the option to book yet. Hang on to your swim goggles! I'm still in research mode.

I chatted with a whistle-wearing Cast Member who said reservations for the shacks and umbrellas haven't opened yet, and she didn't have information on when they would be available. When they do open, it will be like Tinker Bell showering pixie dust all around!

Since you're located in the UK, you'll probably need to wait until you're in the US to make those Enchanting Extras bookings anyway, so I'm crossing my fingers that you'll secure a shack as soon as you arrive. Be sure you have the My Disney Experience mobile app installed so you can make that reservation conveniently on your phone.

If you're staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you'll be able to book experiences like the Beachcomber Shacks for the length of your holiday, up to 10 days. My tip is to book a date later in your visit for the best availability.

The Know Before You Go details also suggest checking the main podiums near the water park entrance upon arrival to see if there are any same-day reservations. Try to be there before 11:00 AM for the best chance to snag one. They are very popular!

These shaded oases are the perfect spot to relax and have a home base during your water park day. I especially love that they include cold water and select beverages. Talk about beating the heat in style! And if you need any sunscreen or swim gear, I always find what I need at Singapore Sal's. I think Disney beach towels are practically perfect souvenirs.

Helen, I hope you're able to secure your very own slice of paradise at the water park. Stop by planDisney if you have any additional questions!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
