Over a 10 day stay I would like to change onsite room accommodations once (I.e. 6 days at a moderate hotel, and 4 days at a more expensive hotel. I could not figure how to d.o this if it is possible. Is this possible?

Hi Jeffrey, and thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! You have an amazing vacation in store with ten days at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

It is absolutely possible to move between resort hotels during your stay, and this is actually something I love to do! It’s a great way to add some variety and experience more of the magic all in one vacation. I really enjoy getting immersed in two totally different resorts since each one has its own story and charm. This type of itinerary is commonly referred to as a “split stay,” and you’ll need to set it up as two separate reservations. Just think of it like two separate vacations that you happen to be taking back to back – double the fun!

You can add both resort hotel confirmation numbers to My Disney Experience, and they will appear concurrently. This makes it easy to manage both stays in one place. The only downside of a split stay is that you’ll need to plan to book your advance dining reservations twice, at the 60-day mark for each check-in date. The same will apply if you decide to book Lightning Lanes 7 days prior to each check-in. It’s a little extra planning, but many guests (including me!) find the added resort experiences totally worth it.

To make your split stay easier, Bell Services will transfer your bags between resort hotels as long as both of your stays are at Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Just drop the bags at Bell Services on the morning you are checking out of your first stay and let them know where you are moving. Then you can go enjoy your day, while they transfer them for you. When you’re ready to check in at your next resort later in the day, your bags may already be waiting for you. I've even shown up at the end of a busy park day and found the Bell Services already had my bags in my new room!

Jeffrey, I hope this helps as you decide which resort hotels will make your stay feel the most magical! If you have any more questions, please send them my way. I would be delighted to continue to help you plan a vacation that is everything you’re dreaming of!

With faith, trust, & pixie dust,
    Casey
