I have a day planned for me and my family at the Animal Kingdom and we have dinner reservations at Boma that night.at 6.35. We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, what would you suggest our best transportation for the day would be?

    Hi Amy,

Great choice for dinner. Boma is a wonderfully unique dining experience and I hope your family enjoys it. You can easily take a Disney bus from the Animal Kingdom to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for your dinner reservations. Simply look for the signs upon your exit from the park that indicates which stop is for Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Following dinner you will have a few choices to get you back to Port Orleans Riverside. You can either take a bus from the AKL bus stop to a park that is still open, for example Epcot, and then exit at that park and switch to the bus stop for your resort. If you spend time at AKL after dinner and the parks have closed, you can take a Disney bus from AKL to Downtown Disney. This location is open later than most of the parks typically, and you will be able to switch to a Disney bus for Port Orleans Riverside here. The last option will be quicker than the other two, but more costly. You can take a cab from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to your resort. There are usually cabs available at many of the resorts, or you can ask the valet to contact one for you.

Of course, if you have a car on property with you, you can drive to Animal Kingdom for the day and park there. Then you can drive over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and park in their lot for dinner, moving back to your resort after dinner.  Hope you have a magical trip!
