Hi Tracey,
I'm so excited to hear that you and your son will be able to enjoy a magical day together at the Walt Disney World Resort! You guys are going to have a BLAST and make memories to last a lifetime! I've taken Disney vacations with some special splurges and I've also taken trips where we watch every penny pretty closely, and I can tell you that once you're there, it doesn't matter how much spending money you have, you're going to have such a wonderful time!
Did you know that you can find menus with pricing
online? That can give you a great idea to know what to plan on regarding meal expenses. In general, I budget about $15 per adult and $7 per child (ages 3 - 9) at a Quick-service restaurant, although depending on what you order, it may be more or less. If you have any Table-service dining reservations, those generally cost a bit more. There are some amazing Disney snacks, too, and I usually budget about $6 per snack. (I definitely recommend anything Mickey shaped, like a pretzel with cheese or ice cream bar...Mmm!) As far as souvenirs go, you'll find everything from inexpensive
pressed pennies to jewelry or custom artwork, with lots of special gifts to remember your vacation priced everywhere in between, so I'm certain that you'll find the perfect souvenir within your budget. Don't forget, too, that it currently costs $22 to
park your car at the theme park. Altogether, I think you'll definitely be able to have a magical day with $200 in spending money for the two of you!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tracey, and have a truly magical vacation with your son!
Missy
