Hi Tiffany! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. It sounds like you have an exciting trip ahead. With your softball tournament and a visit to the Disneyland Resort, you’ve got a fun-filled few days on deck! The good news is that your theme park tickets come with a bit of built-in flexibility, which is perfect for those moments when plans might shift.
You are correct:
valid theme park admission and a
park reservation are required to enter either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. But here’s some helpful news: as long as your ticket hasn’t been used to scan into the parks, you can modify your reservation without a fee. So if your tournament schedule changes, you can adjust your park day without losing a beat.
It is possible to make a same-day reservation, but it depends on park availability at that time. During busier periods (in summer, for example) either park might reach capacity, so there’s no guarantee. If you’re thinking about visiting the parks after your games, be sure to check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar early in the day to see what’s open.
If you find out ahead of time that you won’t be able to visit on your reserved date, I recommend updating your reservation as soon as you can. You have until 11:59 PM the night before to make changes. Just open the
Disneyland app, tap the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen, and select “Make or Modify Park Reservations.” You’ll be taken to a web browser where you can adjust your reservation with just a few taps. Don’t forget to double-check availability on your preferred date first!
Also, there’s no need to make all three park reservations at once. Most standard Disneyland Resort tickets are valid for 16 months from the purchase date, so you have time to spread out your visits based on your schedule. You can check the expiration date in your confirmation email or in the Disneyland app by tapping “Tickets and Passes.” And if you still have questions, a Cast Member on the
Tickets line will be happy to assist.
Tiffany, I hope this brings you some peace of mind as you plan your adventure! Whether you’re cheering from the dugout or catching Paint the Night glowing down Main Street, I hope you have a magical and memorable visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Best of luck in your tournament, and enjoy every moment at Disneyland!
David
