Welcome to planDisney, Angie! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question. I’m happy to help clarify the
Magic Key no-show policy, and offer a few helpful tips along the way.
As you may know,
Magic Key holders who make a theme park reservation must either scan into the park with their pass or cancel the reservation by 11:59 PM Pacific Time the day before. If neither action takes place, it’s considered a no-show. While your current reservations won’t be canceled after a no-show, receiving three no-shows within a rolling 90-day window will trigger a 30-day reservation restriction. During this time, you won’t be able to book new theme park reservations or modify any existing ones.
It's important to note that the 30-day restriction is based on calendar days and is not paused for blockout periods. For example, even if you’re blocked out for part of that timeframe, the restriction continues running in the background. Another helpful detail: the 90-day window used to track no-shows is continuously rolling. That means even while you’re in a restricted period, if you accumulate another no-show and already had two within the last 90 days, the 30-day restriction can reset. No-show marks remain tied to your account for a full 90 days before they roll off automatically.
The no-show policy is subject to change, so I recommend checking the
Magic Key Terms & Conditions periodically for updates.
Angie, I completely understand that sometimes life throws a curveball. I've had to reschedule my fair share of Disney days, too. One tip that’s helped me is setting a calendar reminder as soon as I book my park reservation. That small step has saved me from a few accidental no-shows when plans changed at the last minute.
If you have any more questions about your Magic Key or would like help making the most of your next visit, we hope you’ll stop by again here at planDisney.
Have a magical day!
David
